Here's a little about Maria:
1. When did you become an X-Phile?
Any given Saturday at 3:00 p.m in 1995 ( I Think) I was watching "Colony"... and it turned my X-Files chip on.
2. What is the first episode you watched?
I can't remember very well, my sister Ana used to watch it and sometimes I sat watching with her.
3. What are you looking forward to seeing in the revival?
Good episodes, I hope that Mulder and Scully keep the essence, and hopefully I will want to watch the 6 episodes hundreds of times and not get tired of it.
4. What inspired you to draw X-Files?
Everything about The X-Files, I’ve been making a poster each day (hope to finish all 201), and now, while enjoying the episodes I start thinking how I can make the poster: a quote, the music, a take, many things... sometimes it is hard, sometimes it flows.
5. Who is your favorite character?
Could i say All of them? I love the Lone Gunmen, I don't understand why Chris Carter did what he did. CSM is great.. and between Mulder and Scully? I cannot choose.
6. List your top 5 episodes.
I only get five? (I recalled Scully in "The List"), "The Host", "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose", "Redux", "The Sixth Extinction: Amor Fati", and "Memento Mori".
7. Favorite X-Files quote.
What Scully said at the end of "Max", about the gift Mulder gave to her... "I think that you appreciate that there are extraordinary men and women and... extraordinary moments when history leaps forward on the backs of these individuals... that what can be imagined can be achieved... that you must dare to dream... but that there's no substitute for perseverance and hard work... and teamwork... because no one gets there alone... and that, while we commemorate the... the greatness of these events and the individuals who achieve them, we cannot forget the sacrifice of those who make these achievements and leaps possible."
8. How has The X-Files impacted your life?
It has impacted my life a lot, in many aspects. I met extraordinay people because of this, I have discovered my creative side, I'm a more curious person and many times after watching an episode I do research about the main theme. Most importantly, my family shares this with me, everyone in their own way.
Thanks, Maria! See you next Wednesday for a new artist!
