Alexia Khodanian

It's FanArt Wednesday again! This week’s chosen artist is Alexia Khodanian from Ventura, California. You can connect with Alexia on Tumblr, Twitter, and Instagram. She also has an online shop on Storenvy where you can purchase some of her prints.

Here's a little about Alexia:

1. When did you become an X-Phile?

I actually got into The X-Files pretty recently. I have many friends who are passionate about The X-Files, and they finally got me to watch it in May of 2015. I've been hooked on it ever since.

2. What is the first episode you watched?

The first episode I watched was the pilot. I remember how taken aback I was by the tone of Mulder and Scully's voices; I thought their voices were 2 of the most beautiful voices I had ever heard, haha.

3. What are you looking forward to seeing in the revival?

I can't wait to see how Mulder and Scully's relationship has changed and evolved. I think it's going to be interesting to see The X-Files in action in the present day in comparison to the now seemingly archaic trends of the 90s. Also, I love Skinner. I hope he gets quite a bit of screen time too.

4. What inspired you to create X-Files fanart?

I just generally gravitate to drawing art of characters that I enjoy. I'm not actually a huge live action TV fan, most of the things I watch are animated, so its been fun and challenging to find a way to translate real life people's features into a less realistic drawing of them. Also I just really love Scully, she is so beautiful and fun to draw. Mulder too, but his nose and pouty lips always stump me, he's pretty hard to draw!

5. Who is your favorite character?

I admire and love Scully so much. I really put her on a pedestal in my heart. It's pretty hard to love Scully without loving Mulder however. As weird as he is sometimes, I really do love him too. Also Skinner, I get so excited when Skinner comes on the screen.

6. List your top 5 episodes.

'Beyond the Sea', 'One Breath', 'Bad Blood', 'Ice', and 'Paper Hearts' are some favorites.

7. Favorite X-Files quote.

From 'Tooms' When Scully says, "Mulder, I wouldn't put myself on the line for anybody but you." and Mulder responds with "If there's an iced tea in that bag, it could be love." "Must be fate, Mulder. Root beer."  I love it. I live for the small seemingly mundane exchanges between Mulder and Scully because you know it means the world to them to have each other.

Honorary mention: When Mulder says he loves her in 'Triangle' and she just says "Oh, brother".

8. How has The X-Files impacted your life?

Although The X-Files has only been in my life for a short time in comparison to a lot of older fans, it has really positively impacted my life. I've grown closer to old friends, found new friends, and even gotten some of my roommates and other friends to watch it as well. Thanks to The X-Files I've been able to connect with new audiences through my artwork as well, which is priceless.

Thanks, Alexia! See you next Wednesday for a new artist!
