Starz has announced that Gillian Anderson has joined Bryan Fuller's new series American Gods, an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel. This is a reunion for Gillian and Bryan Fuller, they previously collaborated on NBC's Hannibal. Gillian will be playing Media in the series, a character Variety describes as "the mouthpiece for the New Gods, functioning as their public face and sales representative, by taking the form of various iconic celebrities. She lives off the attention and worship that people give to screens — to their laptops, their TVs, to their iPhones in their hands while they watch their TVs. Ever the perky spokesperson, and always in control, she spins stories in whatever direction best suits her."
Gillian responded to the announcement on Twitter, saying she's excited to work with Neil Gaiman and Bryan Fuller, among others.

No word yet on when we can expect the series to hit the air, but in the meantime we've got Season 3 of The Fall to look forward to later this year.
