This morning on the FOX 2015 Upfront Executive Conference Call, we had the opportunity to join for some additional information about the upcoming line up at this network. As for The X-Files comeback, this is what Dana Walden, Chairman and CEO of the Fox Television Group, had to say about it:
"In January, we have our event series, THE X-FILES. We're very excited about this. We think it'll be a huge reward for fans of this legendary show. It's taken us a very long time to get these three back together and they actually go into production in June. We're going to use the NFC Championship game to launch this event."
The show Lucifer will launch out of The X-Files when it goes to its regular spot on Monday nights for episodes two through six.
"We thought a lot about how to event-ize, bringing the show back from a scheduling perspective. We've got a lot going on in midseason on our schedule, and it felt like the best way to capitalize on all of the opportunities was to give The X-Files -- something that's so highly anticipated, that fans had been literally clamoring for for a decade -- the best maximum exposure in that post-NFC game time period. And then, starting the next day with the first of the next five episodes. So, it'll air Sunday night and then Monday night and then for the next weeks, which will give us a great opportunity to platform our new show, Lucifer ¸ on Monday night. (...) when we looked at all of the options that we had, it just felt like that was the one that gave the greatest exposure to The X-Files, something our fans are waiting for, and also create a great circulation on our air to promote all of our midseason launches and platform Lucifer. So, it felt just like a win, any way you looked at it."
One of the fellow reporters from HitFix asked if there had been any additional information about the content of the episodes, to which Walden candidly answered:
"Well, have you ever met Chris Carter? Because he doesn't tell us a lot (laughter). No, I think there will be a combination. I think you will see a combination of episodes. If you are a loyal fan, you became familiar with the process of mixing stand-alones and the deeper mythology episodes. I think everyone will be happy with what he's got planned."

Gillian Anderson will join Downton Abbey's Hugh Bonneville for a drama titled Viceroy's House. The movie will be shot in India later this year and will be directed by Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham)
The feature drama will chart the life inside Viceroy's House, the sumptuous Delhi home of the British rulers of India, and the momentous political decisions that led to the Partition of India in 1947. For six months in 1947, iconic British statesmen Lord Mountbatten assumed the post of last Viceroy, charged with handing India back to its people. Mountbatten lived upstairs together with his wife and daughter, downstairs lived their 5,000 Hindu, Muslim and Sikh servants. As the political elite took their seats upstairs to wrangle over the birth of independent India, conflict erupted throughout the House.
