James Zark

It's FanArt Wednesday again! This week’s chosen artist is James Zark from Chicago. James has been working on his original comic book and you can check out more about it on Occult Generation. You can connect with James on his website and Instagram

Here's a little about James:

1. When did you become an X-Phile?

I became an X-Phile for sure during season 2, probably the 'Humbug' episode. I was pretty into the Jim Rose Sideshow at the time and that episode was such a riot. So many episodes in season 2 are classics.

2. What is the first episode you watched?

The first episode I remember watching was 'Squeeze'. Super creepy fun.

3. What was your favorite part of the revival?

Favorite part of the revival (other than the fact it actually happened) was the entirety of the 'Were-Monster' episode. In fact, that's one of my all time favorites now. Darrin Morgan at his finest.

4. What inspired you to create X-Files fanart?

What inspired me to create fan art was my pal Stephen Harber was writing The Definitive Ranking of Every X-Files Classic Episode (& both movies) and I jumped at the chance to provide him with some artistic tributes to the original seasons.

5. Who is your favorite character?

I don't think I could possibly choose a single favorite character from The X-Files... maybe Jose Chung...or the tattooed guy (Ed Jerse) that Scully had a thing for.

6. List your top 5 episodes.

My top five X-Files episodes are (in no particular order) 'Never Again', 'Jose Chung's From Outer Space', 'Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose', 'DPO' and 'The Host'. Flukeman forever!

7. Favorite X-Files quote.

My favorite line from X-Files has got to be: "Scully, this is a classic case of demon fetal harvest."

8. How has The X-Files impacted your life?

The X-Files impacted my life by showing me how good storytelling on television can look and feel, and how completely weird the premise of "will they or won't they" can go in the best way.

Thanks, James! We're going on a week-long hiatus to give rise to a new fan work series. FanArt will be back two weeks from today. See you next Wednesday with our new series!
